CFNWF Grants Alabama-West Florida Conference of the United Methodist Church $10,000
Alabama-West Florida Conference of the United Methodist Church receives $10,000 grant from the Community Foundation of Northwest Florida for the recent spring flood victims.
In response to the recent flooding throughout northwest Florida, the Community Foundation of Northwest Florida opened the Disaster Relief Fund with a major contribution from the D. W. McMillan Foundation.

On October 15th a grant of $10,000 was presented by Henry Roberts, Grant Committee Chair, to Dr. Jeremy Pridgeon, Pensacola District Superintendent, Amelia Fletcher, Executive Coordinator for Disaster & Recovery, and Lynn Dobry, Coordinator FL Recovery Team, with the Alabama-West Florida Conference of the United Methodist Church, to be used for families impacted by the recent spring flooding. The group is headquartered at the Gulf Breeze United Methodist Church and they are very active in the flood recovery efforts throughout all Northwest Florida. “Community Foundations all around our state play a vital role in disaster recovery, and we at CFNWF are pleased to be able to give back to our community”, said Eric Nickelsen, Board Chairman for the foundation.
Established in 1995, the Community Foundation of Northwest Florida is a nonprofit community organization created by and for the people of Northwest Florida. The Community Foundation helps donors establish giving funds that reflect their philanthropic interests while making a positive impact on the community.
Additional donations received into this fund will help provide future grants to nonprofit agencies in Escambia, Santa Rosa, Oklaloosa, Walton, Bay, Washington, Holmes and Calhoun Counties. The Disaster Relief Fund will be administered by the Board of Directors of the Community Foundation.
